High Key Cicada

I spied this cicada in a web...well kinda. It was suspended by each wing...I whitened out the background (which was white siding) and amped the detail for this look in Lightroom...sharpened and resized in Photoshop.

Grandma Oreo

Our dalmation, Oreo or Grandma Oreo to some, sitting by my computer this afternoon and I just happened to have my camera...and I needed a daily pic. Oreo is fourteen this summer...we think. She came to us in about Dec 2007 and the vet guest she was about six months at that time. She was pregnant too and had thirteen pups not long after her arrival...two of which died not long after birth. Oreo was abused and wouldn't let a male come within close distance of her for some time. Her eyes are full of cataracts now, she has trouble hearing and holding her bladder (among other things)...doesn't get around too well most days either.
Over the years she has been a good dog who has loved her family greatly! =)
