Fall at the Pinnacles Youth Park, Columbia, Missouri

Today the boys, weenies and myself went to the Pinnacles Youth Park located just north of Columbia, Missouri, off highway 63. The color is just gorgeous right now so get your camera and head on out! We took our portable grill and cooked lunch then we walked some of the trails and took in the gorgeous fall scenery. If you have never been, you must give it a try...you won't be disappointed. Oh, it's free too. =)

Love this pic of my son, Barak, and our teenie weenie, Rocky. So much gorgeous color!! The sun was shining in this little clearing of yellow leaves on a dry creek bed. The lighting was just beautiful...love the result! I will add more photos from today as I get them processed.

My husband and son did some disk golfing a few days ago and I was able to catch some color of the season while I walked the course with them.

Signs of Fall in Missouri

The oaks in our backyard are starting to show some color so of course I had to grab my camera! lol! I so look forward to taking pics at this time of year.

Almost fall

Found this little guy scratching at my back door window...

The squirrels seem to be doing a lot of this over the last several weeks. This one was scratching at my window this morning...so I took his pic of course!

Where did the summer go?? I'm not ready for this just yet, but the cooler temps are very nice. Caught these leaves on the patio this evening.

A Beautiful IN Sunset

Took this one on my iPad while traveling between Brazil and Terre Haute on our way back to Missouri. The sky was just gorgeous with color!

A Big One Year Old!

People who take pics of small children, I take my hat off to you! This was some serious work to get my grandson to show some kind of happiness...and from the pics you can see he was all over the place in his moods, but I like it this way...very natural and not stiff. These were taken with my external flash on camera...had to shoot straight up and bounce light off the ceiling to avoid harsh shadows. I just purchased a white background/support system from B&H...you do what you can with what you have! I'll do better when I have a couple 430EX flashes. =)

Our beautiful Dalmation of 14 years

Today's pic is dedicated to our dalmation, Oreo. Ms. Oreo, had been having more physical difficulties in the last year. She had arthritis, was going deaf, couldn't see very well...and just in pain many days. Oreo was the most loving, loyal companion. She loved her family greatly as we did her and we will miss her dearly. She brought much joy to us in the 13-1/2 years we had her. ♥

Photoshop Editing Technique

Jimmy on Phototips.biz had this really cool and easy editing tip for Photoshop this week and here is what I did with it on a recent photo shoot.

My original edited pic:

In Photoshop, duplicate your layer (background). Go to "filter", gaussian blur with 30 pixels. Then under "layers" click "overlay" or "screen". I chose "overlay" which is the result below. Cool, isn't it? You can adjust the opacity a bit if you need to also. Quick and easy!!

After PS technique:

This technique gives a dreamy quality to the photo.

Mexico, Missouri, is sucking the life out of me/us and has for some time now...I need a different scenery! Just not feeling ANY creative juices. Just want to shake the dust and blow this popsicle stand!
