Last Thursday I was able to get some pics of my daughter in her last month of pregnancy. She had weekly pics in her first pregnancy, but this one she hasn't gotten anywhere near that many photos so I'm glad she has these. I'm happy with them considering how out of practice I am in shooting portraits.

The Bunny
I washed Rocky's (my miniature dachshund) bunny toy today and it quickly became the toy to play with today! The bunny was a cute stuffed Easter toy...not so much anymore. Dachshunds much prefer to have the fluff completely pulled out of any toy in their path. When Walmart or Dollar General put all their Easter toys on sale, I buy several for Rocky to shred over the next year or so. After Rocky got his "new" toy out of the dryer, Rolo (my son's dog) decided he wanted it also as shown below. Silly pups.

Seasons in Indiana
Tomorrow is spring and with that brings (eventually) warmer weather, but you wouldn't know it here in southern Indiana as the temps are a bit below average for this time of year. With warmer weather that means trips to some of Indiana's gorgeous state parks. One of our family's favorite state park is Shades State Park in Crawfordsville which is down the road from Turkey Run State Park...another beautiful park. Shades is for more primitive camping and is more quiet and peaceful. There are many trails to explore and canoeing is very popular in this area too. If you live in Indiana and love to camp, hike & explore than you must see both of these beautiful parks!
Here are some pictures of McCormick's Creek State Park in Spencer, Indiana, which is much closer to us here in southern Indiana. One set was taken April 17, 2012 and the fall photos where taken October 18, 2012. This park is simply gorgeous in the fall! I think I love living in Indiana where all parks seem to be beautiful...to me anyway.
Blessings,
Lee Anne

Last Year's Azaleas
I love spring and all the gorgeous color it brings, but unfortunately there is non to be found...at least where I live. While I was going through some of last year's photos taken at this time of year, I came across some pics of the beautiful azaleas that grew out our front door at the home we owned in Missouri. Unfortunately, the new owners, ripped them all out soon after they moved into the home. So now, all I have to remember them by are the many pictures taken over the six years of living there. They really are gorgeous and this scripture goes with it perfectly.
Blessings,
Lee Anne

Fav Instagram Fall 2012 Photos
With all the copyright issues on Instagram, I decided to delete all of my photos in my account a few months back. For whatever reason, I didn't post any of them here on my blog so now I'm posting some of them now as sometimes I like to go back and look through them. Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year to photograph and the fall here in southern Indiana did not disappoint as it was one of the most beautiful we'd experienced in all the years of living in Indiana.
Many of these were taken, because of convenience, on my iPhone 5. Using what you have on hand is better than not taken at all in my book.
You may follow me now on EyeEm under @lahomespun.

Red Barns
Here are two of my favorite barn pics taken at the end of 2012. They were taken on my iPhone5 while traveling with my family through some local countryside here in southern Indiana. I originally posted these on my Instagram account, but with all the copyright issues I decided to delete all my pics...but it's new here! ;)

Updated links to the right~
I've been doing some updating of my/family links today and they are located under 'Link Favs' on the right side of this blog. They were scattered here and there so now they are all in one place. My Etsy is closed at the moment, but I hope to open that again soon.

Rolo Loves the Snow
Southern Indiana saw more snow this first weekend in February...not much though. Just enough to be annoying. As you see by this photo, Rolo highly enjoys the cold weather. He loves to stick his nose down in the fluffy stuff to find his sticks in various places in the backyard.

Snow and more snow!
Southern Indiana has been seeing a lot of snow in the last several days...and I love it! So far since Christmas Day we've seen about thirteen inches with more falling today through tomorrow morning. Here are a series of pictures I took on the 29th.
About three weeks back or so, I took this gorgeous sunset photo with my iPhone5. With light like this, you don't waste it as it's gone very quickly...hence the iPhone use instead of my Canon 50D.
Enjoy!

Monroe Lake, Bloomington, Indiana
Today is just gorgeous!! The air is warm and the sun is shining...can't get any better than this! My family and I went to the country today to do some target shooting and we had a ball, as usual, just being together. Here is a pic of me and my little grandson, Jonah. Never too early to learn to use a camera, I say! =)
Lovin' life in beautiful southern Indiana!

This one was taken on Lake Monroe just south of Bloomington, Indiana, this week. The air was crisp and the sky was a gorgeous blue. We even spotted an Amercican Bald Eagle as he flew not far from us. Never tire of seeing that majestic bird.

McCormick's Creek State Park, Spencer, Indiana
McCormick's Creek State Park in Spencer, Indiana, was our mini adventure this week. We got sprinkled out and didn't get to see and do anywhere near as much as I'd hope, but the weather looks good for next week to try again. We never can get enough of this gorgeous park...especially during fall! I believe the park is almost at peak and full of glorious color right now so if you live in Indiana it would be worth the trip.
Here are a few pics from out day.
Enjoy,

Blue Sky & Corn Fields
While driving through the country last week, I was able to snap this pic of some Indiana farmland. The day was a bit hazy and I added some textures to bring out the colors of the landscape. I love playing with textures and adding a bit of drama here and there.

Only Weeds Grow
It's pretty bad when the only green things in the yard are the weeds! We had rain all around us and over us today, but hardly a drop fell. We, like so many in the midwest need rain!
I really like the soft colors in this picture though.

Huzzah River in Southern Missouri
A few weeks ago, my family, and some friends, went down to southern Missouri to enjoy the Huzzah River. It is located just south of Cuba, Missouri. About two miles down the road from the Huzzah Valley Resort, we found a nice place off the mail road. The river is spring fed, clear, clean & cool! The temps that day hit about a hundred degrees so the water was especially nice for us to cool off. I took our portable grill some burgers/dogs for our lunch to cut down on trip expenses. We had a blast just floating and enjoying our time together! Our hope is to go back and camp in this area and in some of the others springs found about an hour further south in the Ozark National Scenic Riverways park. The waters are so clear and clean! I can't say that enough...a must to see if you live anywhere in Missouri. Our dachshunds didn't even smell from being in the river...it was that clean!
Here are a few pics to show you the beauty of this area.
Enjoy!

Lace in the Sunlight
I love seeing Queen Ann's Lace growing at this time of year so while on one of our regular "early morning beat the heat walks" yesterday, I clipped some and brought it home to take a picture of it...of course. =)
