Backyard Wildlife

The bird feeder was very popular on this last day of January. I think they were stocking up for the big blizzard too.

Dragonball Z Character

This is one of my son's character's I found on his shelf and thought it would be interesting to photograph. I edited to get the right white balance, added a negative png on top, amped the saturation/clarity, added some yellow tinting to the edges & grabbed a logo on Google....that's it!

Hoar Frost

Pic 14~
Day two for seeing hoar frost on the trees, but not as thick as the day before. Yesterday, I didn't take my camera for the drive to work...big mistake! I've never seen the trees so thick and full of frost with the sun hazing behind the thick clouds...gorgeous!

Frozen Wind Chimes

Pic 13~
I was scrounging for subject matter today! Trying to come up with new ideas is a challenge, but I am enjoying it! Here in north central Missouri, we have received more snowfall than average and with the temps just getting over freezing there are icicles hanging from every roof it seems. I caught these hanging down from a wind chime that I didn't remove before the cold stuff arrived. It made for something different anyway.

DPS ebook on Portraiture...got it for $10!

While surfing Digital Photography School's tuts tonight, I came across an ebook on "How to Take Stunning Portraits". Sounded really cool with loads of info for $20...I googled "coupon code" and got it $10. Yay!

The Nut Gatherer

Pic 12~
While on my lunch hour today, I found this little guy eating his lunch too. I put some squirrel food in the bird bath as we have many squirrels that live in our oak trees. From this picture, it looks like he is taking some for a snack later! These furry little tree rats drive my teenie weenies nuts! lol!

A Prim Entryway

Pic ~ 11
I made this coat/hat holder out of some old church shutters and I add different colored pip berry garland to accommodate the season. I love trash to treasure projects!

Beautiful Memorial Poinsettia

Pic 7 ~
I had a very long day with no time to get on the computer till now so this is posting in the early  hours of Friday, but it is a Thursday post. Our church has memorial poinsettias each year to decorate the stage area...which looks gorgeous with all the red color! Each year, we have one place for my mother-in-law who passed almost ten years ago from a long battle with cancer. I wanted to get the color of this beautiful plant while it was still full of glorious red color.

Teal Lake, Mexico, Missouri

Pic 6 ~ Frozen Beauty
Another cold day in Missouri with about eight inches of snow on the way...again. It's been cold enough to freeze the lakes over so the geese have been leaving their prints in the snow/ice. The temperature was about ten degrees this afternoon when I took this, but the sun was shining with no wind so it was a nice moment to take a few shots. Of the dozen or so I took, I liked this one best as it shows the gorgeous blue sky!

Burrr...it's cold outside!

Pic 2~
I thought this was an interesting angle from our patio fire pit topper with some ice dripping down. When you are taking photos, it's makes you think in more creative ways of what to photograph. 1/800 sec at f/5.6, ISO 800 55mm

Pic 1 ~ A view from my part of the world...
This is my first post on my photography blog! My goal is to take a picture every day for the rest of the year. Here is my first one! I went out yesterday to get some pics of some Canadian geese who are wintering at a local lake. Gorgeous birds!

I am wanting to challenge myself with a new photo everyday, or close to that, till the beginning of next year. Here is my first photo!
Enjoy!
