The central part of Indiana saw a lot of snow last week and some really cold temps. We are usually in Bedford, but when temps are really cold we stay with our daughter in Bloomington. While there, I was able to get a few shots outside once the temps rose a bit though. I love to see how snow falls on something as simple as a shrub with red berries...so pretty!

Rolo Loves the Snow
Southern Indiana saw more snow this first weekend in February...not much though. Just enough to be annoying. As you see by this photo, Rolo highly enjoys the cold weather. He loves to stick his nose down in the fluffy stuff to find his sticks in various places in the backyard.

Snow and more snow!
Southern Indiana has been seeing a lot of snow in the last several days...and I love it! So far since Christmas Day we've seen about thirteen inches with more falling today through tomorrow morning. Here are a series of pictures I took on the 29th.
About three weeks back or so, I took this gorgeous sunset photo with my iPhone5. With light like this, you don't waste it as it's gone very quickly...hence the iPhone use instead of my Canon 50D.
Enjoy!

The bird feeder was very popular on this last day of January. I think they were stocking up for the big blizzard too.

Hoar Frost
Pic 14~
Day two for seeing hoar frost on the trees, but not as thick as the day before. Yesterday, I didn't take my camera for the drive to work...big mistake! I've never seen the trees so thick and full of frost with the sun hazing behind the thick clouds...gorgeous!

I was scrounging for subject matter today! Trying to come up with new ideas is a challenge, but I am enjoying it! Here in north central Missouri, we have received more snowfall than average and with the temps just getting over freezing there are icicles hanging from every roof it seems. I caught these hanging down from a wind chime that I didn't remove before the cold stuff arrived. It made for something different anyway.1/320 sec at f/2.8, ISO 1250

The Nut Gatherer
Pic 12~
While on my lunch hour today, I found this little guy eating his lunch too. I put some squirrel food in the bird bath as we have many squirrels that live in our oak trees. From this picture, it looks like he is taking some for a snack later! These furry little tree rats drive my teenie weenies nuts! lol!

Teal Lake, Mexico, Missouri
Pic 6 ~ Frozen Beauty
Another cold day in Missouri with about eight inches of snow on the way...again. It's been cold enough to freeze the lakes over so the geese have been leaving their prints in the snow/ice. The temperature was about ten degrees this afternoon when I took this, but the sun was shining with no wind so it was a nice moment to take a few shots. Of the dozen or so I took, I liked this one best as it shows the gorgeous blue sky!

Burrr...it's cold outside!
Pic 2~
I thought this was an interesting angle from our patio fire pit topper with some ice dripping down. When you are taking photos, it's makes you think in more creative ways of what to photograph. 1/800 sec at f/5.6, ISO 800 55mm

Pic 1 ~ A view from my part of the world...
This is my first post on my photography blog! My goal is to take a picture every day for the rest of the year. Here is my first one! I went out yesterday to get some pics of some Canadian geese who are wintering at a local lake. Gorgeous birds!
I am wanting to challenge myself with a new photo everyday, or close to that, till the beginning of next year. Here is my first photo!
Enjoy!
